Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Salem-Keizer Public Schools! The time parents and community members devote to our students is what helps make our district great. Volunteers are needed all year long for opportunities like:
- Chaperoning field trips
- Classroom help
- Mailings
- Bulletin boards
- Library shelving
- Working at Book Fairs
- And many other areas!
Volunteer Application & Background Check
For the safety and security of our students, staff and community members, all volunteers must complete a background check prior to volunteering.
Student Volunteers
Students under age 18 need to complete the Student Criminal History Check form prior to volunteering with younger children.

- Please return your completed and printed form to your teacher, school office, or school administrator.
Adult Volunteers
Option 1: Complete an Application Online (Preferred Method)
The online process is secure and only authorized district staff will see your results.
Adult Volunteer Application & Criminal History Check
Option 2: Print and Deliver an Application
You may submit a hard copy of your criminal history check, however the clearance process can take several weeks to complete.

Salem-Keizer Public Schools provides training to contractors, employees, and volunteers on the prevention, recognition, and reporting of child abuse and sexual conduct. Please review these materials before volunteering with the district.
